1981 – Medicine Lake Lutheran Church formed Medicine Lake Lutheran Academy with 13 students on the campus of the church building in Plymouth.
1984 – MLLA enrollment increased to 41 students so the school moved to the Eliot Community Center.
1985 – MLLA relocated to the Central Community Center in St. Louis Park.
1990 – The first 8th grade class graduated.
1997 – With enrollment at 219 students, MLLA moved again to Olivet Baptist Church in Crystal, MN and added a high school.
2001-2002 – Construction began on the current building in Maple Grove, MN.
2003 – Medicine Lutheran Lake Academywas changed to Heritage Christian Academy to better reflect the ministry and mission of the school. The new building opened with all students, Kindergarten Development through 12th grade, now under one roof.
2016 – Heritage Christian Academy earned accreditation through AdvanceEd.
2018 – HCA’s baseball team won the Class A State Championship.
2021 – The Academy celebrated 40 years.
2022 – HCA’s boys cross country team won the Class A State Championship.
2022 – HCA’s Expansion Team started planning for a space transformation.
2023 – For the 2nd year in a row, HCA’s boys cross country team won the Class A State Championship.
