1981 – Medicine Lake Lutheran Church formed Medicine Lake Lutheran Academy with 14 students to begin on the campus as the church building in Plymouth.
1984 – MLLA enrollment increased to 41 students so the school moved to the Eliot Community Center.
1985 – MLLA relocated to the Central Community Center in St. Louis Park.
1986 – Medicine Lake Lutheran Church purchased 4.5 acres of land in Plymouth but ultimately was not used.
1990 – The first 8th grade class graduated.
1997 – With enrollment at 219 students, MLLA moved again to Olivet Baptist Church in Crystal, MN and added a high school.
2001-2002 – The new building in Maple Grove, MN was constructed.
2003 – Medicine Lutheran Lake Academy was changed to Heritage Christian Academy to better reflect the ministry and mission of the school. The new building opened up and serves Kindergarten Development through 12th grade.
2016 – Heritage Christian Academy earns accreditation through AdvanceEd.
2018 – The Heritage Christian Academy baseball team wins the Class A State Championship.
2021 – The Academy celebrates 40 years.
2022 – The Heritage Christian Academy boys cross country team wins the Class A State Championship.
2023 – HCA’s plans for a space transformation project began.
2024 – HCA breaks ground on the building expansion!
