Welcome to the theater arts page of the Heritage Christian Academy Fine Arts Program. HCA and theater director Christine Stevens invite students to experience new ways of glorifying our Savior and exploring self-expression through various types of performances in the area of dramatic arts.
Heritage Christian Academy high school students have the option to participate in a Theater Arts course as part of the fine arts requirement (or elective requirement?) for graduation.
In the fall our high school seniors have the opportunity to cast, develop, and perform a play of their choice as part of HCA theater’s “Senior Showcase.” This incredible leadership role allows our senior theater students to highlight their abilities to direct and produce, as well as their own acting skills.
Every year our middle and high school students work together to put on a full-scale play or musical in the spring. Students devote large amounts of time and energy towards memorizing lines, building sets, and performing their roles for an audience of parents, peers, and community members. Recent performances include The Pony Expresso, Gossip, and The Secret Garden.
At the middle school level, our 5th grade students prepare and perform a musical with a Biblical message that showcases the skills they have developed in their music classes during their elementary years.
Our theater arts program begins in 5th grade and continues through grade 12.
