Heritage Christian Academy's Elementary School includes preschool(Kindergarten Development) through fifth grade. Teachers create enriched learning environments for children. Kindergarten Development emphasizes phonetic awareness, academic readiness activities and social development in preparation for kindergarten and as a foundation for future learning at HCA. The Elementary School focuses on core subjects and academic achievement in accordance with each student's ability. In addition to the key skills taught in the language arts, mathematics, Bible, history and science, students participate in art, music, orchestra, band, health/physical education, computer insruction, Chinese foreign language instruction. Art Club, Chess Club, Lego League and Destination Imagination are club offerings for our students. Elementary students meet for chapel every other week. Although academics are the core of our mission, we recognize that a school environment offers unique opportunities for a well-rounded social, spiritual and emotional life. Christian service opportunities are available, giving students experience in serving others. Examples would be visiting nursing care facilities, supporting our military troops and other mission outreaches.

  

Based on the most current research completed through the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics, students in Kindergarten through 5th grade should devote 10 minutes daily to fluency of basic arithmetic facts. This research supports what HCA elementary teachers have so diligently included in their instructional practice within the classroom.
